My Friends |

| I get a lot out of people. That is, I learn from everyone I meet. I think that's part of the nature of people, but maybe some don't realize it as well as I do. So I am truly thankful that I have known everyone I've met. Here are just a few people I'd like to point out and thank. | |||||||||||||||||||

I just love keeping goofy images of old friends! Not that Ann (formerly Traverse) is really old, of course. We went to undergrad at the same time, and met through mutual friends.

I am never going to forget Jennifer Sherbinski (formerly Newcomb) standing in a wetsuit with an umbrella in my dormroom. Why did she do this? I don't even remember. The little shark is mine, it still sits on my dresser, to this day.

I just couldn't resist the opportunity to put my husband's rear in this list. This is such a great picture!

These three were at the Unviersity of Miami when I was doing my undergraduate and MS. Olaf was an undergraduate when I left University of Miami, but the next year he showed up at a conference as a graduate student. He was interesting. Lu was one of my instructors, and he is truly brilliant in the study of the EKG. Suresh was known as the "camel jockey" from Sri Lanka. He was working on his doctorate at UM in cardiology the last I heard.

Dr. Chancellor is a surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Urology. A great guy, very smart, very dedicated to his work. I was thrilled to have him on my doctorate thesis committee.

These are my two favorite people during my doctorate work. Wei (at the back) was such a tower of support. Although he worked very hard, he was very practical and knew when to quit and drag me to lunch at the hospital. I can't imagine having lunch there without him. Brent was the joy of our lab, always cheerful and willing to help, so enthusiastic. Wei is now Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at University of Connecticut. I know Brent is somewhere up in Boston, but don't know exactly where.

George is real-world brilliant. He is smart, hardworking, and practical. He plans to have his own company someday and I have no doubt he'll be able to do it. He is currently a post-doc at MIT. Yeah, post-doc at MIT. He's going places.

Dan is also brilliant. An excellent designer, very good at seeing the potential flaws in the design and compensating for them. Dan is currently a Senior Research & Development Engineer at NFocus Neuromedical.
